Acupuncture is an scientifically-backed Traditional Chinese Medicine practice in which thin, sterile needles are inserted into the skin to manipulate the body’s tissues and nervous system, triggering the body’s natural healing response and release of pain killing neurochemicals. This is our primary approach for healing patients with many different conditions as it has such a powerful effect on the body causing no adverse side-effects besides an occasional bruise. We also offer electroacupuncture, acupuncture with electrical stimulation. In electroacupuncture, a small electrode from an acupuncture needle stimulator machine will be attached to the needles. An electrical current will run through the electrode into the needles to more effectively stimulate the nerves and heal the area. This can be helpful for healing more stubborn injuries, muscle spasms, and relieving pain.
